As the Atomic Records representative stated when this photo appeared on eBay:
“SMASHING PUMPKINS ORIGINAL 8X10 PROMOTIONAL PHOTO
GISH-era, provided by CAROLINE RECORDS (pre-VIRGIN). Printed on KODAK Professional Paper, not a reproduction. I was sent a handful of these to distribute to press in order to promote their in-store appearance at Atomic Records in 1991.”
The in-store appearance of Smashing Pumpkins was on 1991/10/22, that’s why we date this photo September 1991.
