This tape includes 2 filler songs from the band’s early days which hadn’t been commercially released until now. Those tracks are a (home-)studio version of “I Fall” (note the early date!) and a live version of “Time Has Come Today” from the Last Exit, Chicago gig on 1988/11/20. Technically we can say The Smashing Pumpkins exists at least since December 1987 by the discovery of this tape.

Additional Info: Recorded by Billy Corgan and James Iha, using a drummachine, at Billy's father Home Studio. For 3 different reasons this song can be considered as the first creative outing of the Smashing Pumpkins, though the bandname was not yet known at that moment: 1. It was recorded by 2 future Smashing Pumpkins members, without any other influences of members of other bands, past or present at that time. 2. The Smashing Pumpkins played this song live at least 1 time, at the Avalon in Chicago on 1988/08/10. 3. In 1989 this exact same recorded track was released on a private demotape called Gish/Moon, with the name Smashing Pumpkins on it. Billy Corgan has always said he considered the Smashing Pumpkins existing from 1988 till 2000. We however, consider this recording part of the Smashing Pumpkins history and we could say technically the Smashing Pumpkins exist since 1987.
